Update: Winter Maintenance Operations

Due to the ongoing regional salt shortage, the Township is adjusting winter maintenance operations to ensure available materials last through the remainder of the season. This includes the careful use of salt, sand, and other approved de-icing materials.

As a result, road conditions may vary at times. Residents may notice increased use of sand on roadways, which is applied to improve traction during winter conditions.

The Township will continue to prioritize public safety, and staff are actively monitoring salt supplies and exploring alternative options to maintain service levels. Residents are encouraged to drive according to road conditions and to allow space for snowplows and winter maintenance crews as they work to keep roads safe.

Public Works crews will continue to maintain all Township roads in accordance with Minimum Maintenance Standards, and we appreciate residents’ understanding during the winter season.
