The primary mission of the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley Fire & Emergency Services is to provide a range of programs to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants of the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley from the adverse effects of fire, sudden medical emergencies or exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature.

The 2022 Fire Department Activity Report provides a comprehensive overview of the emergency calls responded to by the Elizabethtown-Kitley Fire Department (EKFD). The report also includes key summaries such as recovered funds, response times, hours of service, financial losses, fire prevention efforts, and other important data.

The Township has adopted a new Open Air Burning By-law [26-39] to promote public safety, protect property, and reduce the risk of uncontrolled fires. The by-law outlines when and how open air burning is permitted, the types of fires that are allowed, permit requirements, and the responsibilities of those conducting a burn.

Residents are encouraged to review the by-law before conducting any open air burning to ensure they are in compliance with the regulations.
