Roadside Community Clean-Up Program

Looking for a simple way to give back to your community?

The Township of Elizabethtown‑Kitley’s Roadside Community Clean‑Up Program invites residents and community groups to help keep local roadsides and public spaces clean. Community clean‑ups can take place at any time of year and are a great way to get involved in local environmental efforts.

Before getting started, participants are asked to register with the Township’s Recreation & Operations Coordinator and review and sign the Township Volunteer Policy.

Volunteers provide their own clear garbage bags, and the Township supplies free bag tags, which are required for disposal. Bag tags are available at the New Dublin Office, the Toledo Office, and the Township Waste Site.

For everyone’s safety, participants should:

  • Wear high‑visibility clothing where possible
  • Work only in safe, accessible areas
  • Avoid high‑speed or heavily travelled roads
  • Leave hazardous materials and report them to the Township

Please note:

  • All collected garbage must be placed in clear bags with a Township bag tag attached and dropped off at the Township Waste Site.
  • Only tagged bags will be accepted and curbside pickup is not available.

Community clean‑ups are a small effort that make a meaningful difference by supporting environmental efforts, building community pride, and keeping shared spaces clean.
