Roadside Brushing Underway
The Township’s roadside brushing program has begun and will continue until mid-October.
What is it?
Roadside brushing is an annual maintenance program that removes overgrown trees and brush along roadsides. It is an important part of maintaining safe and well-kept municipal roads.
Why is it important?
- Road safety: Improves sightlines and removes potential hazards for drivers
- Vegetation control: Prevents trees and brush from encroaching on the roadway
- Protects the road base: Helps prevent ice buildup and moisture-related road damage
- Winter maintenance: Provides space for snow storage during winter operations
The Township recognizes that areas cleared with a mechanical brush cutter may appear untidy immediately after work is completed. However, vegetation in brushed areas naturally regenerates and typically returns within a year.
