Community Engagement Meeting: Proposed 5MW Solar Project in Brockville

The Province of Ontario, through the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), is undertaking 
a competitive procurement for new electricity generation under its Long-Term Energy Procurement 
(LT2) process.

As part of this initiative, Alectra Energy Solutions, a subsidiary of Alectra Inc. and sister company to 
Alectra Utilities, has partnered with Kruger Energy, a leader in clean energy development. Through 
the Alectra Kruger Joint Venture, the partners are proposing a 5 megawatt (MW) solar energy 
generation facility at the 1000 Islands Regional Tackaberry Airport.

If selected and approved, the project would help increase capacity on Ontario’s electricity grid and 
support the province’s long-term energy needs. Alectra Energy Solutions and Kruger Energy are 
100% Canadian-owned companies that own and operate over 100 solar sites across Canada and the 
United States.

As the host municipality where the proposed project would be located, the Joint Venture wishes to 
notify you of the following in-person community engagement meeting
