Elizabethtown-Kitley, ON - Cedar Valley Golf and Country Club has been named the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley’s 2026 Business of the Year!

The award was presented during the Township’s annual Business of the Year Breakfast on Friday, September 25th, at Cedar Valley Golf and Country Club, located at 7041 County Road 29.

Economic Development Committee Chair Earl Pollock opened the morning’s event, welcoming local business representatives, community members and guests as the Township celebrated the contributions of businesses throughout Elizabethtown-Kitley.

The Business of the Year Award recognizes local businesses that demonstrate excellence in their field, longevity, innovation and involvement in the community.

This year’s nominees were Pilatzke Plumbing Services, G.C. Hudson Supply and Cedar Valley Golf and Country Club. The nominees represent local businesses that contribute to Elizabethtown-Kitley through their continued investment, service and involvement in the community. In recognition of their accomplishments, each nominee in attendance was presented with a certificate of excellence by the Economic Development Committee.

The celebration was especially fitting for Cedar Valley Golf and Country Club, which was named the Township’s 2026 Business of the Year while hosting the breakfast in its new event space. Owner Rick Carr accepted the award from Mayor Brant Burrow and Economic Development Committee Member Rebecca Mercer. In his remarks, Carr reflected on the recognition and took the opportunity to thank his staff for their contribution to the business.

Guest speaker David Beatty, longtime Canarm owner and Chair of the Board of Canarm Ltd., and Vice Chair of the St. Lawrence Corridor Economic Development Commission, rounded out the morning with remarks on Canada-U.S. relations, tariffs and how local businesses can adapt to changing economic conditions.

The Business of the Year Award has been celebrating the achievements and contributions of Elizabethtown-Kitley businesses since 1994. This year marked the 31st Business of the Year celebration and the third held in a breakfast format, bringing together local business and community members to recognize the people and businesses contributing to the Township’s economic community.
