Council Advances Township Priorities at ROMA Conference
Council and staff have returned from a highly productive and successful Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) conference. Council participated in several ministerial delegations to discuss matters of importance to the Township.
Our delegation with Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister, Rob Flack, focused on advancing the Campus Habitations development at the Rows Corners Fairgrounds. We also met with Natural Resources Parliamentary Assistant, Dawn Gallagher Murphy, to discuss the impacts of invasive phragmites within our Township. In addition, Council met with Environment, Conservation and Parks Minister, Todd McCarthy, to address local challenges related to the transition to producer-led recycling.
We were also thrilled to see Rural Affairs Minister, Lisa Thompson, recognize Burnbrae Farms and the Hudson family as Rural Champions at the inaugural Rural Ontario Inspiration Awards. Their leadership and commitment are a tremendous source of pride, and Elizabethtown–Kitley is truly fortunate to be home to such an outstanding, nationally recognized company.
We would also like to thank MPP Steve Clark for his strong support during these delegations and for his continued advocacy on behalf of the Township.
