POSITION OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE:
The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley is looking for student to assist the Public Works Department, who would report directly to the Public Works Manager.
Hours of work vary between 6:00am – 4:30pm and 7:00am – 3:30 pm
Monday to Thursday
DUTIES:
- • Perform general labourer duties, including but not limited to litter pick-up, pot-hole patching, maintenance & repair work at parks & ball diamonds, general cleanup of vehicles and facilities.
- • Perform traffic control duties (training will be provided)
- • Have the ability to work alone or in a team environment.
- • Work outside during a variety of weather conditions.
ELIGIBILITY:
- • The successful candidate will be required to provide and wear CSA approved protective footwear. The Township will provide a reflective vest, hard hat, and gloves.
- • The successful candidate must have a valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license.
- • Must be available for work between May 6th, 2024 – August 30th, 2024
- • MUST BE ENROLLED IN AND RETURNING TO FULL-TIME SECONDARY OR POST SECONDARY STUDIES IN FALL OF 2024 – Verification will be required.

Waterfront Lifeguard / Instructors (Seasonal Fulltime)

POSITION OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE
The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley is looking for Lifeguard / Instructors for the Lyn Conservation (Lyn Pit) Swim Program.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- • Lifeguard duties in open water environment
- • Designing class instruction
- • Working in a Team Environment
- • Teaching a variety of swim levels parent and Tot to Adult
- • Administering minor First Aid
- • General facility maintenance including garbage pick-up
- • Beach Set up and clean-up daily.
- • Work outside during a variety of weather conditions
- • Working with additional agencies including CRCA
ELIGIBILITY:
- • The successful candidates will be required to work Monday to Friday During the months of July and August from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
- • June dates are also available depending on exam schedules.
- • MUST BE ENROLLED IN AND RETURNING TO FULL-TIME SECONDARY OR POST SECONDARY STUDIES IN FALL OF 2024 – Verification will be required.

Student, Information & Records Management

POSITION OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE:
This position will require the applicant to assist with filing, indexing, and archiving confidential financial information. The applicant will also provide general clerical support within the Finance Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- • Preform data entry and word processing functions, occasionally creating various documents
- • Provide occasional in-person customer service
- • Assist with large-scale digitization of archival material, as well as filing and categorizing incoming documentation
- • Basic knowledge of municipal structures and processes is considered an asset
SKILLS:
- • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, OneNote)
- • Self-motivated and able to work independently, or as part of a team.
- • Effective written and oral communications skills
ELIGIBILITY:
- • Applicants must be available to work on-site for the duration of the summer at the Township Office located at 6544 New Dublin Road in Addison, ON.
- • Applicants must be available to work a thirty-five (35) hour work week, which will take place Monday – Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm.
- • Applicants must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education/returning to post-secondary education in the fall of 2024.
